HOW WE HIRE

THE SHORT VERSION

We don't hire off resumes. We hire off evidence — the kind you can only get from watching someone think, make decisions, and ship something real. If you're early in your career and worried that your resume doesn't do you justice, you're in the right place. It probably doesn't. That's not a knock on you — that's just where you are. The hard part of being early in your career is that you need someone to take a chance on you so you can build the kind of experience that jumps off a page. Most hiring processes aren't built to see past the paper. Ours is.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY MEASURE

Our bar is high, but not for a specific skillset. What we measure is subjective, and intentionally so. When someone applies, we're reading for six things:

Coachability.

Are you a team player who understands team dynamics? Can you take feedback without taking it personally?

Problem Solving

Can you work a problem from multiple angles: analytical, theoretical, contextual, experiential?

Personality

What would you add to our team culture, our conversations, the overall energy of the place?

Attention to Detail

Do you do a job well enough that a teammate doesn't have to clean up after you?

Endless Curiosity

Are you genuinely driven by the things that interest you and the problems in front of you?

Enthusiasm

Are you so excited about what you do that you can't help but share it and teach others?

It's extremely difficult to demonstrate these qualities in a resume. Here's how you can show us who you really are.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Apply for the postion. Send us the task for the role you want, plus a short note about yourself. Include a short video walkthrough (5 minutes or less) of your submission — show us how you think, what you decided, and what you'd do next. Any recording tool works (Loom, Riverside, QuickTime, phone camera) — just send us a shareable link. No file attachments. No resume required. (Send one if you want. We'll look. It won't be the thing that decides.)

2. We review every submission. An actual human on our team takes the time to review your submission and we will respond to you when we feel the review is completed.

3. Connect via Google Meet. If we like what we see, we get on a Meet and have good old conversation. Not an interview in the traditional sense. We look to have a conversation and facilitate a deeper dive into whatever you walked us through in your video.

4. Is it a fit? If it's a fit on both sides and we want to move forward we will schedule another meeting. If it's not, we tell you via email communication why and we'd appreciate that you do the same. We love constructive feedback.

ABOUT THE VIDEO WALKTHROUGH/PITCH:

We're not looking for polish. We're looking for thinking. The task shows us what you can make. The video shows us how you think about what you made. Those are two different signals and both matter.

Five minutes is the ceiling, not the target. Shorter is fine if you can get there. Loom is free and takes thirty seconds to set up if you don't already have a tool you like — but use whatever you want. Just share a link. We don't want to download anything.

No scripts. No editing. Just you, walking us through your work like you'd walk a teammate through it.

WHY WE DO IT THIS WAY

We're a small team. Every person we bring on changes the shape of the company. We'd rather spend an hour reading a thoughtful submission than ten minutes scanning a polished resume that tells us nothing about how someone thinks.

We also know the traditional hiring process is broken for early-career candidates. You haven't had the runway yet to build the kind of experience that jumps off a page. That's not your fault — and it shouldn't be the reason you don't get a shot. Giving you a real task is how we see past the paper.
